Hamid was born in Frankfurt, Germany, lived internationally during her childhood before moving to the Bay Area for college in 2001, and was drawn to San Francisco as her home base in 2008. She studied Graphic Design and Photography at San Jose State University, and continues to explore design and photography on a daily basis. Hamid's work is inspired by Dada, Bauhaus, Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, Surrealism and is central to Conceptual art. She has an eye for exceptional color coordination and social nuances. Her work includes digital collages, reductive drawings, prints, photographs, and clothing. Hamid lives and works in Oakland.
